ShortFreeURL for Chrome and Edge

Shorten the tab you are looking at without leaving it.

A small toolbar extension for Chromium browsers, which covers Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc and Vivaldi. You sign in once with a public create-only API key, select an optional domain, and create a branded short link for the current tab without opening the dashboard. The result is copied immediately, includes an on-demand QR code, and stays in a five-link local history for quick reuse.

Download the package, unzip it, then open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode and choose Load unpacked. On first run paste the workspace URL and a public create-only API key from Dashboard → Integrations & API → API. It talks only to your ShortFreeURL instance and URLs you explicitly shorten.

Firefox

ShortFreeURL for Firefox

The same toolbar button, built against the Firefox add-on APIs.

A Firefox-compatible build of the same extension. It shortens the active tab, creates a themed QR code, saves a screenshot, supports the right-click menu and keeps a local recent-links list. It can be temporarily loaded from Firefox while the persistent store-signed XPI is prepared.

Download and unzip the package, open about:debugging → This Firefox, choose Load Temporary Add-on and select manifest.json. Paste a public create-only API key when the popup first opens. Firefox will remove a temporary add-on on restart until the AMO-signed package is published.

Create, list and inspect links from a terminal or a script.

A single command-line binary for macOS, Linux and Windows that wraps the REST API. It is the tool to reach for when links are part of a build step or a release process rather than something you make by hand: you can create a link in a shell script, pipe a CSV of destinations into a bulk import, or print a day of click data as JSON and hand it to jq. Output is plain text by default and JSON with a flag, so it composes with whatever you already use.

• ms shorten <url> prints the branded short link and copies it where a clipboard is available
• ms list and ms get for browsing and inspecting existing links
• ms import for bulk creation from a CSV file
• ms stats for click data as text or JSON
• ms qr writes a PNG or SVG QR code for any link
• Multiple named profiles so one machine can talk to several workspaces

Install it with npm, or download the standalone binary for your platform. Run ms login once to store an API key in your user config directory, or set the MS_API_KEY environment variable in CI where an interactive login is not possible.
