HubSpot

Sign in with HubSpot and record every new branded link as a note in the CRM.

What it does with ShortFreeURL

Connect a HubSpot account and every event you subscribe to — a link created, a link edited, a domain added — is written into the CRM as a note holding the short URL, where it points and who did it. The point is that the CRM, not a spreadsheet somebody keeps, is where the record of "which link went into which campaign" ends up.

The grant is a normal HubSpot OAuth app with a refresh token, so it keeps working, and disconnecting here revokes the refresh token at HubSpot rather than only forgetting it locally.

It asks for two scopes and no more: oauth, which every HubSpot app needs to read its own grant, and crm.objects.notes.write. It cannot read your contacts.

Setting it up

  1. Whoever runs this installation creates a HubSpot public app, adds the callback URL from the admin panel, and selects exactly those two scopes.
  2. Open Integrations → HubSpot and press Connect with HubSpot.
  3. Press Send test — a note is created in your CRM and what HubSpot answered is shown in full.
  4. Tick which events should be recorded under Events.

What data moves

Where this comes from: src/services/integrations.js — the hubspot provider and hubspotCreateNote(); tested in scripts/integrationtest.js.

Questions

Are the notes attached to a contact or a deal?

No. They are standalone CRM notes. Associating them with a record would need scopes to read your contacts, which this deliberately does not ask for.

What if HubSpot rejects the scopes?

The refusal is shown to you word for word rather than swallowed — scope names differ between HubSpot app versions, and guessing on your behalf would be worse than telling you what it said.

Was this tested against HubSpot itself?

Against a local server implementing the same OAuth and CRM contracts. No call has been made to HubSpot from this build.
