Slack

What it does with ShortFreeURL
Approve ShortFreeURL on Slack's consent screen, pick a channel, and two things start working. The first is a slash command: type /shorten with a URL and a branded link comes back without leaving the conversation. The second is notification — new links and alerts are posted into the channel you chose.
The scopes requested are the two that are needed: an incoming webhook so we can post, and commands so the slash command works. Nothing that can read a channel.
Setting it up
- Open Integrations → Slack in the dashboard and press Connect.
- Choose the workspace and the channel Slack should post into, then approve.
- Tick the events that should be announced.
- Type /shorten https://example.com in that channel to confirm both directions work.
What data moves
- Out: a message per subscribed event, and the reply to each /shorten.
- In: /shorten commands, verified with Slack's signing secret.
- Auth: Slack OAuth. The workspace and channel you approve are shown on the connection.

Questions
Can it read our messages?
No. The scopes are an incoming webhook and the slash command. Neither can read channel history.
Why does it say it needs setup by an administrator?
A Slack app has to be registered once for this installation. Until your operator does that, the connect button honestly says so instead of failing at Slack.
